Predictions and odds between Wyoming vs. UNLV (Cowboys on Track to Buck recently slipped)

The Wyoming Cowboys hit the road after losing an important Mountain West game to the San Diego State Aztecs. Wyoming dropped to 12-4 in the conference game and placed third behind Colorado State and Boise State.

While they were still on the right side of the bubble, that loss to the Aztecs was sure to sting. Another would put their chances of getting into the league at stake. Tonight, the Cowboys are hoping to turn their fortunes against another MWC foe in UNLV Rebels. The Rebels played pretty well over the long haul and managed to reverse Colorado State 72-51 and were played tight by Boise State in their last game.

This is a tough game to call because while I think Wyoming is the better team on paper, they’re playing well below their current level. They have lost three of their last five games and are not looking comfortable on the field in what feels like weeks. They have been kept below 70 points in three of their recent years and suffered 2-3 ATS in their recent year.

In a strange way, I think Wyoming can be revived by this away game. They are one of the odd teams that have had better luck playing away from home. In their case, it was much better. Wyoming is a 7-1 ATS in bot lane and a 9-3 ATS in lane in general. On the other hand, UNLV is the home team 7-9 ATS and 1-1 ATS is the home team.

Wyoming is also the better team in terms of attack and defense points per game with a rather large difference. I’ll bet they’ll get back on track tonight and make their case for the NCAA Tournament bid.

Pick: Wyoming +100 to win
