Predictions and odds between San Francisco vs. BYU (The cougar is in danger of falling three straight in Pac-12)

West Coast Conference vs. Brigham Young Cougars and San Francisco Dons will go head to head tonight at the Marriott Center. BYU is desperately trying to get back on track after losing their last two matches in a row to Pacific and Santa Clara.

This is the first time in 17-6 the Cougars have lost two games in a row. However, it will be a tough match for BYU to get out of their slump, as the Dons are a stealthy dangerous team.

San Francisco might be the fifth-placed team in the WCC but I think they could draw with any team in the conference. That is with the exception of Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Dons were dropped by 16 points by the Bulldogs at the start of the year but that’s the best any WCC team has done against Zags. Meanwhile, the Cougars were completely embarrassed by Gonzaga 110-84 when they last met on January 14.

I think a key factor in this game will be how well the Dons can defend against BYU’s busy 3-point attack. Cougars ranked 97th in 3-point shot rate and averaged over 22 shots per game. This directly affects Dons’ greatest strength in defense. Perimeter protection. San Francisco is the 14th team in the nation if measured by the opponent’s 3-point ratio with 28.5.
