13th edition of NHL’s Winter Classic will take place tonight, New Year’s Day, at Target Field in Minneapolis. Wild will host The Blues during the supposed 2021 version of the event, but it has been postponed for a year due to COVID-19.
Players in tonight’s game will need to dress warmly. It can be as cold as -18°.
This will be the second Winter Classic for the Blues, and the first for Wild to join. Let’s see Odds for the game via WynnBET.
I still can’t legally buy the Blues to be a good team. They are 20th in the NHL in terms of CORSI% and they allow the fifth highest dangerous scoring chance with 12.5. That’s not a very good formula when you’re up against a Wild team that ranks second in the NHL in terms of shot percentage, scoring 11.05% of their shots.
The Wild are just one point behind the Central Division top Blues, but they have two games on their hands. A win tonight would put them past the Blues for the top spot in the standings, and I think they’ve done that against a much higher rated Blues team.
Pick: Wild -115
