Prediction BYU vs. UAB and Odds for the Independence Bowl

12th-placed BYU will have a chance to kick off a successful season with an Independence Bowl win over UAB. The Cougars ended their season with a 10-2 record, with their only ugly loss being a 26-17 defeat to Boise State.

UAB finished the season 8-4, but missed out on the C-USA Championship Match, finishing in second place in the C-USA West. The Blazers will be without lead driver DeWayne McBridge, who was injured at the end of their season.

Here are the odds for the game, with the help of WynnBET.

I won’t think too much about this. I think BYU has been underrated this season.

UAB was a fast runner, BYU was average in blocking, but DeWayne McBride, UAB’s fastest player this season, had to miss the game due to injury. Without him, their running attack wouldn’t be as powerful.

The big thing to keep an eye on is UAB’s defence. They were 18th in opponent yards per play, but BYU were 6th in offensive yards per play, and they moved the ball efficiently against much tougher opponents. I don’t think they will have many problems with UAB’s defence.
