The Big Ten and Pac-12 go head-to-head at the Las Vegas Bowl when the Arizona State Sun Devils and Wisconsin Badgers clash on Thursday night.
The Sun Devils took a big win over Arizona 38-15 in their final game. The win puts them 8-4 for the year, and the Sun Devils are ranked short after beating UCLA in Week 5.
Wisconsin was also a ranked team in the regular season but fell out of the top 25 in their final week following a 23-13 loss to Minnesota. The loss broke the Badgers’ seven-game winning streak and ended their season on a sour note.
Here are the odds for the Las Vegas Bowl, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
To get a win here, Wisconsin must continue to play as tight defensively as they have done all year. The Badgers only allow 16.4 points per game and are ranked among the best defenses in the nation. They are in the top 5 of allowed yards per game, yards allowed per play, and opponents’ third-down conversions. Their 77th-placed lineup could have played a bit better but the score was enough to help the Badgers win. However, they struggled to cover the game and got 6-6 ATS for the year. They fared better as favorites with a 3-1 ATS difference in such games.
The Sun Devils are also the first team to know how to defend and are 24th in terms of allowed points and 19th in terms of opponent’s surrender points. Their offense is pretty good too but won’t start running Rashaad White again in the Las Vegas Bowl. White, who finished the season with 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns, chose to skip the game as he prepared for the NFL Draft. White joins Jermayne Lole and Travez Moore as healthy scratches for this game.
With the Sun Devils entering this game without their best player, it’s hard to see their attack making much of an impact here. Badgers’ defense is too good and can handle this one-sided attack with relative ease.
Pick: Wisconsin Badgers -5.5 (-110)
