Predicted lineups for Atlanta Braves Opening Day 2022

The Atlanta Braves will be looking to defend their first World Series championship in 26 seasons.

In a few weeks, the Atlanta Braves will be back in diamond baseball to defend their World Series championship.

It was a tumultuous season last year for Atlanta. The Braves struggled to reach over 500 until the final months of the season. While they won the worst division in baseball, Atlanta burst into flames at just the right time to host an October run for the ages. By consecutively beating the Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros, they were the defending champions.

Here’s what Atlanta’s roster could look like on Opening Day versus the Cincinnati Reds on April 7.

Atlanta Braves Opening Day lineup

  1. RF Eddie Rosario
  2. 2B Ozzie Albies
  3. 1B Matt Olson
  4. 3B Austin Riley
  5. LF Marcell Ozuna
  6. DH Alex Dickerson
  7. CF Adam Duvall
  8. C Travis d’Arnaud
  9. SS Dansby Swanson

Look for Eddie Rosario in the lead, Ozzie Albies in second and rookie Matt Olson in third right behind the gate. Center of the order will be Austin Riley clearing, Marcell Ozuna hitting fifth and Alex Dickerson taking Ronald Acuña Jr’s place. on the list while he recovers from his injury. Adam Duvall, Travis d’Arnaud and Dansby Swanson will complete the batting order.

Atlanta will likely bring in four players in another position on their expanded 28-man roster because of the shortened spring. Candidates to form the club that way include Orlando Arcia, William Contreras, Phil Gosselin, Guillermo Heredia and Manny Piña. Much of Atlanta’s bench will be of the quarterback and catcher category as Atlanta’s fourth quarterback will be the appointee.

  1. RHP Charlie Morton
  2. Max Fried Film Festival
  3. RHP Ian Anderson
  4. RHP Kyle Wright
  5. RHP Huascar Ynoa
  6. Tucker Davidson Film Festival

Because Charlie Morton is trying to bounce back from injury, Atlanta can go with a six-man rotation while they can take advantage of a larger roster and save their arm for the upcoming innings. Morton, Max Fried and Ian Anderson and the swivel lock head. Tucker Davison, Kyle Muller, Kyle Wright and Huascar Ynoa are all contenders for two to three spots in the penalty shootout.

  1. Luke Jackson
  2. Kenley Jansen
  3. Tyler Matzek
  4. Collin McHugh
  5. AJ Minter
  6. Sean Newcomb
  7. Darren O’Day
  8. Will Smith
  9. Tyler Thornburg

As with the starting rotation, Atlanta will have about nine arms in the cowshed. Even if Luke Jackson is dealing with arm pain, look for Night Shift to return to full force this season (Jackson, Tyler Matzek, AJ Minter, Will Smith). Newcomers like Kenley Jansen, Collin McHugh, and Tyler Thornburg are welcomed as welcome additions to the hugely dominating Atlanta cowyard this spring.

While they suffered some attrition from the team last year, Atlanta certainly has enough talent to repeat. Predicted lineups for Atlanta Braves Opening Day 2022
