Powerball Draw 1384 Results: Wrong Number Originally Released in $50 Million Jackpot

Some players at last week’s $50M Powerball may have been mistaken for believing they had won big after it was revealed that Lott’s website and app initially displayed an incorrect number.

A resident of the NSW Mid North Coast was the lucky winner of the only Division 1 winning entry in last Thursday’s 1384 Powerball drawing with the numbers: 14, 6, 9, 25, 27, 31 and 33 and the Powerball number 15 .

However, Lott has now confirmed that one of the numbers originally posted online was wrong.

The results initially claimed the first winning number was 16 instead of the correct winning number being 14.

If someone had the sequence of numbers originally posted, they would have mistakenly thought they won $50 million when instead they actually won the Division 3 prize for six numbers and the Powerball number.

The 29 winners in that division took home $5,167.60 a piece – not quite $50 million.

The wrong number of 16 was originally posted on The Lott’s website and app. Recognition: 3AW
Minutes later the number changed to 14, the correct winning number for the first division. Recognition: 3AW

A spokesperson for The Lott confirmed the error to 7NEWS.com.au, saying: “On 24th November 2022, one of the winning numbers drawn in Powerball draw 1384 was incorrect on our website for a period of approximately two minutes after approximately two minutes App showing 20:10 (Qld time)”.

The mistake was brought to light when a caller informed 3AW and provided evidence of the mix-up.

“The Powerball numbers were listed in the Lotto app and when I updated 16 minutes later to see how many winners there were, there was a winner (and) one of the numbers had actually changed from 16 to 14” said the caller.

After several failed attempts to contact the $50 million Powerball winner, officials were finally able to track down the new millionaire Monday.

According to The Lott, the winner still had to come to terms with his life-changing prize.

“How they choose to enjoy their prize will remain a mystery, as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate their life-changing win in private,” The Lott said in a statement.

In addition to the Division 1 winning entry, $29 million was also won in Divisions 2 through 9.
