Popular bakery Villa Park has a busy weekend with a new oven

VILLA PARK, Illinois – The owners of Kuppie’s Bakery in Villa Park said this weekend was one of their busiest, happy to be back in business after a busted oven forced a temporary closure.

The bakery’s industrial oven broke in January, forcing the company to raise money for a new oven that cost about $50,000.

For one customer, the reopening of the bakery could not have come at a better time.

“We’re so happy they’re here and we love this local bakery and we’re so glad they’re back,” said customer Leah Pedersen.

After the bakery’s oven broke, a customer posted about the problem on social media. Another client created a GoFundMe page and the community rallied around the beloved bakery.

Today, business is better than ever as customers snag their Easter favourites.
