Police officer points gun at dogs attacking owners

A Perth woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after her two Rottweilers attacked her.

Police were called to the 31-year-old woman’s home in Success, Perth’s south, at around 4.30pm on Saturday.

An officer used his weapon to stop the attack because the dogs were “extremely aggressive” and the woman’s life was in danger, the Western Australia Police Force said.

One of the dogs was shot and seriously injured, while the other dog was secured in a garage until rangers arrived.

The woman had severe bite wounds to her arms and legs and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Rangers seized both dogs and Cockburn City Council would investigate the incident, police said.
