Police are looking for a Melbourne man who doused petrol and threw matches at a woman

Police are searching for a Melbourne man who tried to set fire to a house and its occupant after fleeing a hospital on Saturday morning.
Police say a man they believe to be 25-year-old Bartholemew Griffth entered a home in Salisbury Grove, Northcote, around 1.30am after discharged from hospital.
Once inside, Griffth reportedly turned on the gas in the kitchen and then left.

He is accused of returning more than an hour later with petrol, pushing past the 52-year-old resident of the home to gain entry and dousing the entire property.
Police say he then tried to set fire to a piece of paper.
“(The) female inmate managed to lock a security door, but the perpetrator then sprayed the door and her with petrol and proceeded to throw matches at her,” Victoria Police said.
The Ivanhoe man was unsuccessful in his attempts to ignite the gasoline and fled the scene on foot.
Police have released pictures of Griffth in hopes someone will recognize him and know where he is.
