Pokémon Unite Adds Hoopa and Full-Fury Modes to Pokémon Day

Pokémon Unite is steadily increasing, with Trevenant’s spooky six-legged tree joined last month and Aegislash is being dataized in the code of the MOBA. But before the Sword Pokémon arrives, we’ll get Pokémon Hoopa the mythical ring.

As shown in latest trailerBoth Bound and Unbound forms of Hoopa are present. While in Bound form, Hoopa can use his rings to teleport himself and his teammates. The Hyperspace Hole, as this move is called, will return anyone within its area of influence back to its base. Rings Unbound is its Unite Move, converting it to its Unbound form. Its attacks become Hyperspace Fury and Psybeam, which can damage “up to two opposing Pokémon nearby”, according to the form’s description. Hoopa is currently available in Pokémon Unite.

Just in the next few days is a new limited-time mode called Full-Fury. As described in another intro, Full-Fury Mode provides “super-fast” cooldown, respawn and elimination. While the Pokémon themselves still move at their normal speed, these changes will result in much faster-paced battles. Full-Fury mode will be available starting on Pokémon Day, February 27. It’s a limited time event, but as of this writing, we don’t know when it will end.

Pokémon Day is for the entire franchise, so other games are joining the celebration, too. Pokémon Sword and Shield is giving a chance to increase capture Gigantamax Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur in Max Raid density. Meanwhile, Diamond Shine and Pearl Shine added a new Colosseum feature.
