For April’s Community Day Classic in Pokémon Go, Mudkip returns as part of the Memories of Mudkip event. During the event, all players have a chance for increased chances of Mudkip spawning in the wild, with a chance for a Shiny to spawn. The event will take place on April 10 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
During the Memories of Mudkip event, all players have a chance to catch multiple Mudkip in the wild during the designated event time. If players can evolve their Mudkip into its final form, Swampert, the Pokemon will learn the charged move Hydro Cannon, a powerful Water-type move that’s become a stable for Swampert in the Battle League at almost every level, which it is one of them makes the game’s more coveted Water-type Pokémon, which isn’t Legendary.
Players also have the option to purchase a Special Research Event Ticket for an exclusive Special Research story quest. The rewards for the quest grant players the opportunity to earn multiple rewards, although the special research will only be available during the limited event. Additional bonuses during the event include a tripling of Catch EXP and Incense and Bait Modules that last for three hours.
This announcement of the Community Day Classic follows Niantic’s decision last week to revert the standard Community Day events to their three-hour schedules. The decision was made when the team spent more time checking the number of participants for the event and found that more players were playing less than three hours. While fan feedback is against this decision, Niantic appears to stand by this decision, but they are looking to explore further changes for the system and other quality of life changes in the future.
Mudkip’s Community Day Classic event takes place on April 10th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone.
