Pokémon fans create fan art of Pooper, the new Paldean Wooper

One of the best parts of the Pokemon Franchise is that each Pokemon is beautiful and popular in its own way. There’s the big-ticket Pokemon like Mewtwo or Koraidon, and then there’s a bunch of humble little guys. One of them is Wooper, the damn little dude who’s basically a big round head, a smile, and a teeny tiny body. Now fans can enjoy an even wider selection of woopers Pokemon scarlet and violet.

As players travel through different regions, they often find both unique Pokémon not found in any other game, as well as regional variants of well-known Pokémon. For example, Weezing is usually a two-headed, purple, floating Pokemon. But if you travel to the Galar region, Weezing wears huge top hats and a smog mustache that makes it look very excellent. The same applies to Wooper. In Paldea, Wooper is a Poison-type Pokémon that looks juuuuust a little different – and he’s already inspired fan art and memes on social media.

Paldean Wooper has some differently shaped fronds on his head, making him look like a little warning skull you might see on a Venom – appropriate considering this Wooper is a much more Venomous little guy than his predecessor. Plus, Wooper is always cute — he’s got that big, goofy expression on his face and that open-mouthed feeling of wonder. Apparently, long life on land has hardened these Paldean Woopers, so I don’t know if you should hug them…but then again, maybe you should. It must be a little disheartening to have your nickname Pooper. Hopefully, the outpouring of love and support from fans can make up for this undignified fate.
