PlayStation 5 gets Discord Voice integration, other features

just Sony announced a ton of new features currently being developed. Features like support for 1440p Exit were teased for sometime while others, like the ability to join a Discord voice chat natively, feel like they should be announced earlier than a few years in the console’s lifecycle.
You won’t be the first to access these features unless you’re selected for the beta, but they seem quite promising. You can finally make Discord calls straight from your PlayStation 5 and show the game you’re playing to whoever you’re talking to (just like the mobile and desktop versions).
The PS5 will also get other notable social features. Finally, you can request screen sharing directly from your friends’ profiles, join game sessions via “Party” chats, and see which games your friends also have on their accounts. If you’re picky about who can join your games (like me), don’t worry: Sony is giving PS5 owners the ability to dictate who can and can’t join your games.
These additions are potentially a huge boon to the multiplayer ecosystem Sony has been trying to build ever since acquired Bungie for $3.6 billion. and acc a financial call Since last year, multiplayer has been the main reason why PlayStation Plus users continue to pay each month to use Sony’s gaming subscription service.
Even if you don’t like multiplayer, Sony is developing features that apply to all PlayStation owners. What excites me the most is the ability to use a voice command to record videos. You wouldn’t mess around with details manually either; You can preset the length of an average clip.
If you’ve recently upgraded to a current-gen console, you probably remember that transferring saves was a huge pain point. Currently, the only way to shuffle your PlayStation 4 saves on your new console was to hack into your cloud storage. PlayStation Plus subscribers will eventually be able to transfer save data automatically. Even if you don’t pay for Sony’s gaming subscription service, you’ll soon be able to transfer data between individual PS5s. You know, now that it’s supposedly possible for the average person Backup more than one console.
G/O Media may receive a commission
If you’re lucky enough to receive a beta sign-up email, you’ll be able to preview these features before anyone else. So check your inbox carefully.
