Play-In Tournament Schedule and Seeds

The NBA play-in tournament is officially set. Here’s the schedule and seeding for the Eastern and Western Conference.

Sunday was the final official day of the 2021-22 NBA season, meaning the playoffs are about to begin. Before that, however, the play-in tournament takes place, in which four teams in each conference fight for the numbers 7 and 8 in the playoffs.

The field was officially closed on Sunday afternoon. Numbers 7 and 8 will go head-to-head in a head-to-head match, with the winner officially securing 7th place in their respective conference. The loser of that game competes against the winner of the #9 vs. #10 game for 8th place in the playoffs. Whoever loses games #9 vs. #10 is obviously eliminated from playoff contention.

Below is the full schedule of games for each day, along with the betting times and the channel they will be broadcast on.

Tuesday April 12th

• No. 8 Cleveland Cavaliers at No. 7 Brooklyn Nets (winner takes No. 7 Eastern Conference) – 7:00 p.m. ET – TNT
• Los Angeles Clippers No. 8 at No. 7 Minnesota Timberwolves (winner takes Western Conference No. 7) – 9:30 p.m. ET – TNT

Wednesday April 13th

• No. 10 Charlotte Hornets at No. 9 Atlanta Hawks – 7:00 p.m. ET – ESPN
• No. 10 San Antonio Spurs at No. 9 New Orleans Pelicans – 9:30 p.m. ET – ESPN

Friday April 15th

• Hornets/Hawks Winners vs. Cavaliers/Nets Losers (Winner Takes 8th Eastern Conference Seat) – TBD – ESPN
• Spurs/Pelicans winners vs. Clippers/Timberwolves losers (winner clinched 8th place Western Conference) – TBD – TNT

For the Nets, Cavaliers, Clippers and Timberwolves, the task is simple – win and you’re in the NBA Playoffs.

The Nets/Cavaliers winner officially wins a matchup against the No. 2 Boston Celtics. The winner of Timberwolves/Clippers gets a matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round.

However, the losers of those games will play the winner of the #9 vs. #10 game for eighth place in the playoffs. The eighth seed east will take on the Miami Heat, while the No. 8 team west takes on the Phoenix Suns.
