PlanetSide 2’s construction system is, well, under construction

Remember the good old days of early websites and their ubiquitous “Under Construction” logos? You might want to crack open one of these Planet side 2 because the MMO is literally preparing to overhaul its entire construction system.

In the sci-fi shooter’s first producer’s letter of 2023, Planet side 2 said the system, originally launched in 2016, needs urgent development love. As the construction system is “difficult” and “tedious”, Daybreak wants to make the feature more fun and accessible with the upcoming overhaul.

“With this revamp, we’re focusing on two main goals: allow builders to develop bases where non-builders like to fight, and reduce them [the] Barrier to entry for gamers wanting to engage with the system,” the studio wrote.

While the building overhaul will Planetside 2 the first major update of the year, a minor patch released today with Lunar New Year sales and fixes to weapons and Capture the Conduit mode.
