Philadelphia Eagles rookie DeVonta Smith lifts to perform TD 36 yards

DENVER – In Alabama’s first-round selection match, Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith landing the first blow.
Midfielder Jalen Hurts found Smith, who turns 23 on Sunday, for a 36-yard touchdown in the bottom right corner of the first-half area late in the first quarter to put Philadelphia a Leading by 10 points via Dancer broncos. Defender Patrick Surtain II tightly covered, but Smith showed good body control as he jumped to make sure he caught the ball. Now, he has touches of the ball in fighting games.
Smith has 0.7 yards on the TD pass. That’s the second-lowest gap in a single encounter in Hurts’ career and only the third of his career, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Surtain and Smith finished ninth and 10th overall in the April NFL draft. They played three seasons together at Alabama. This week, Smith credited Surtain for helping him become a better receiver through their contest in reality.
