Phil Mickelson to be cut at Golf US Open 2022 after LIV Golf debacle FirstSportz

Phil Mickelson was eliminated from the 2022 Golf US Open after missing the cut after the second round of the tournament. This was the first major he played in after joining the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Series. After enduring a nightmarish first round of the US Open on Thursday, he finished the first day eight to 78, spoiling his 52nd birthday.
On the second day, however, he seemed to have managed to turn things around and improve his card to 3-to-73. However, with only the top 60 players progressing over the weekend, Mickelson’s 11-to-par total meant he was aiming for a US open win is over. It’s the only major he has yet to win. It also means it has its fifth-highest career score relative to par after two rounds at a Major.
