Pete Davidson laments the media’s obsession with his love life

Peter Davidson has addressed the public’s constant focus on his romantic life. The comedian, who has made a name for himself dating high-profile women, recently admitted he doesn’t find his love life fascinating enough for all the attention it’s been receiving.

He also explained that he finds the attention “dizzying” as he avoids flaunting his relationships on social media. As part of his intimate admission, Davidson said he never purposely searched for his ex-boyfriends by going into their DMs, instead meeting them on some of the sets he’s worked on in the past.

On the Real Ones with Jon Bernthal podcast, Davidson discussed the public’s opinion of his love life, which has seen him date several high-profile women over the past decade.

He admitted many people knew him more for his relationships with these ladies than his work, but said he always worked hard to get his career to where it is today.

The 29-year-old comedian also said he really doesn’t find his love life interesting, although some outsiders might not share his perspective.

“I don’t think it’s that interesting. I’ve been in show business for almost half my life, like 14, 15 years, and on a national television show,” the King of Staten Island actor said, per Daily Mail.

“And in 12 years I’ve dated about 10 people, I don’t really think that’s that crazy,” he added, “but it seems very interesting to some people.”

Expanding on the subject, Davidson explained that he found the attention paid to his love life very “disorienting” because he rarely flaunts it on his social media platforms.

He also dispelled any misconception that he purposely seeks out high-profile women, admitting that as a comedian and actor he can work with these women and end up organically forming relationships with them.

“Those people I dated like I met them at work. For example, I wasn’t in anyone’s DMs, nobody was in mine. …I’ve worked in one of the five Hollywood epicenters where you meet people. And that’s just who I’ve worked with and been with.”

Regarding how he feels about his love life being more important than his career in the media, the comedian said, “It’s a really shameful feeling,” which likely reflects his desire for the narrative to change.

The comedian also famously dated singer Ariana Grande in 2018, shortly after ending his relationship with comedian Larry David’s daughter, Cazzie David.

After his split from Grande that same year, he moved on to actress Kate Beckinsale and dated Margaret Qualley the following year. Kaia Gerber, Olivia O’Brien, Phoebe Dynevor and most recently Emily Ratajkowski are among the ladies Davidson dated.
