Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on Steam releases opt-in beta to fix crashing issue

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax was released on March 16th for Playstation, Nintendo Switch and Steam. But the PC port of this popular fighting game hasn’t gone smoothly for all players, and some players are reporting that the game is crashing on matchmaking. Specifically, players cannot search for lobbies to battle in using the “Player Match” feature.

This has created an issue where players have to invite friends or create lobby codes to even find matches. Players looking for random matches will need to stick to the “Ranked Match” mode rather than the more casual “Player Match”.

However, ATLUS and Arc System Works are aware of the issue and have created an opt-in beta for players to participate in. If you participate in the beta, you can use the Find Player feature, which will open up a ton of room for you to play.

It’s a little strange that you have to use a beta feature to fix a bug, but in our experience it seems to work. Instead of the game crashing immediately when we were looking for a room, there were tons of lobbies to choose from and fight in. Hopefully this bug will be patched soon for any players who choose not to participate in the beta.
