Pending freelance worker JC Jackson shares his thoughts on the Patriots

Week 12 of last season, the Patriots under 500 and many fans were thinking ahead of the season. That is not the case this year. With the attention of the entire team, there hasn’t been much discussion about what kind of changes we’ll see this spring.

That being said, there are some big names that could move this season – none bigger than a comeback. JC Jackson. After being invited to the RFA last year, Jackson will become an unrestricted freelance agent in March. On Friday, Jackson was asked about his thoughts on his future and whether he would be willing to stay in New England.

“I love playing for the New England Patriots – playing under coach Belichick,” he told reporters. “I have developed as a footballer since I have been here. I will say I learned the game. I like it here, man. This is the place that brought me in and gave me an opportunity from day 1. I wanted to be a New England patriot for a long time. ”

With a potential market-setting deal he faces if and when he hits the market, Jackson is doing best not to think ahead. “I just don’t know. Like, I can’t really do anything but keep doing what I’m doing. Whatever happens, happens,” he said. “I try not to think about it right now. My main focus this week is Tennessee, and that’s it. Contract – everything else will take care of itself. ”

“I’m a footballer, I’m not an agent,” he continued. “So when it comes to contract negotiations, I leave that to my agent. I’ll let them handle that and I’ll just focus on football. That’s how I view it. That’s how I control the situation.”

So far this season, Jackson has a league-high six interceptions and 14 breakouts. He’s had 23 interceptions in his three-plus years with the Patriots, with nine in 2020.
