BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Former Beatle Paul McCartney will return to the City of Baltimore on June 12, the Baltimore Orioles and Mayor Brandon Scott said Friday.
Ticket for the Return Tour goes on sale to the public on Friday, February 25 at 10 a.m. There will be a pre-sale for Birdland Members on Thursday, February 24.
“I said at the end of my last tour that I would see you guys next time,” McCartney said in a statement from the group. You said you would come back to me. Well, I’m back! ”
The stadium performance will be McCartney’s first time playing Baltimore since 1964, when The Beatles performed two nights at the Royal Farms Arena, then known as the Administration Center.
At the height of Beatlemania, it was the Fab Four’s only visit to the City of Charm.
The Orioles were gearing up to celebrate Oriole Park’s 30th anniversary at Camden Yards, but the stadium’s first big concert didn’t take place until July 2019, when singer-songwriter Billy Joel title.
In December 2020, McCartney released his 18th solo album, “McCartney III.” As with the albums “McCartney” of 1970 and “McCartney II” of 1980, the legendary rocker recorded almost every instrument on his home record.
He later released a companion disc, “McCartney III Imagined,” which included remixes of songs from the album by the likes of Beck, St. Vincent, Blood Orange, Anderson .Paak and Phoebe Bridgers.
As it happened, former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr would arrive in Baltimore two nights later. Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band are scheduled to perform two nights at the Lyric Opera House, on June 14 and 15.
