Tyreek Hill seems to have been in the news a lot lately, not because of his insane god-given speed or his new hairdo, but because of the comments he’s been making. Hill has always been the player known for taunting his opponents by swearing at them on the field and showing them signs, as we saw in the matchup against Tampa Bay in the 2021 season, the wideout threw a peace sign at one of them the safeties after beating him to the end zone and scoring a TD. While all of this is acceptable and makes the game more entertaining, Hill is just causing a lot of drama lately.

The receiver seems to have woken up when he suddenly fired at his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs. In his final statements, he indirectly said that Mahomes is not an accurate passer and that while talented, he would prefer his current QB, Tua Tagovailoa, to any of the previous ones.

“I want it to hit me right in the breadbasket”: Tyreek Hill would take accuracy over deep throws any day of the year

Tua Tagovailoa is under more pressure than ever as Tyreek Hill puts him on a pedestal

Hill recently said the following on his podcast It Needed To Be Said: “In terms of accuracy, I’ve been with Tua all day.” When asked if he preferred deep throws across the field like he was used to in Kansas City with Patrick Mahomes, or if he preferred throwing the ball straight to himself, he responded by saying: “I want it to hit me right in the breadbasket, just like I did in the Buffalo Bills game and take it 70 and the rest is history.”

This comment from Hill drew a lot of criticism from all quarters, with Stephen A. Smith urging him to stay away from the weed and other analysts slamming him by noting that he hadn’t even played a preseason game with Tua and put him on a pedestal. Pat McAfeehowever, was impressed with the way Tyreek talked about his quarterback.

“I appreciate the fact that everything seems to be about outsmarting Tua and getting people to stop talking shit about Tua, and that’s what a wide receiver will do for their quarterback.” McAfee praised him for standing by Tua’s side and having his back when many criticized Hill’s off-season moves. Choosing Tua over Patrick Mahomes is like choosing Russell Wilson over Tom Brady, both have potential but only one of them is an anomaly.

What do you think of Tyreek Hill’s recent comments? Does he go a little too far in showing his support for the QB?
