Patrick Maron is a hockey player for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers as the 161st pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Before joining the Lightning team, he played for teams like the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, and St. Louis Blues. He was nicknamed “Big Rig” and popularly known by that name. He competed in three consecutive seasons with the Blues, winning the Stanley Cup all three times.
He began playing in the North American Hockey League during his high school years. He made his NHL debut in the 2011-12 season as a member of the Anaheim Ducks. Shortly after starting high school, Pat Maroon was invited to the North American Hockey League, the Texarkana Bandits, where he had 60 points in 57 games in a season. His performance took shape and in the 2006/07 season he recorded 95 points in 57 games. He was the first Bandits player to win the NAHL’s MVP award and was later drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2007 NHL Draft. His professional hockey career began in the 2008-09 season with the Phantoms of the AHL.
