Pastor John Grey seems to be making strides after a scary health diagnosis.
John has been in the hospital for over a week. He reportedly went to the emergency room after weeks of feeling different. He was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit and diagnosed with blood clots in the lungs and a saddle embolism in the pulmonary artery. The diagnosis came as a shock to his family and those who have followed John’s ministry. On social media, John’s wife, Aventer Gray, has asked his supporters to pray for healing and it seems to be working.
But even if his health improves, Aventer says it’s not time to stop praying for healing. “THANK GOD STILL HOLD…IF IT’S NOT A FAITH I DON’T WANT IT!!” LIFE!!! THAT’S ALL! GOD IS NOT DONE @realjohngray!!!! NO PREMATURE DEATH!” she wrote in a July 11 update.
In their update, Aventer shared that a clot in John’s leg resolved but clots in his lungs and the saddle pulmonary embolism remained. However, her faith remains high. “ALL WILL STAY IN PLACE BECAUSE THEY MUST OBEY THE VOICE OF THE LORD! THEN THEY WILL BE ERASED! I AM READY FOR THE REST OF THIS MIRACLE!!!” she wrote.
On July 13, John was transferred from Alabama to a hospital in Atlanta. “We’re steadily moving in the right direction today,” Aventer wrote online two days after his return to Atlanta. The post continued, “He’s being left behind by everything because the timeline of how quickly it would take for these lumps to clear up was sped up by months and the only thing they could attribute that to was prayer. Nothing they have done has been able to do what we are seeing now based on the latest images. It was the prayers of the righteous that did the trick.” Had John not seen a doctor, he risked dislodging the embolism, heart failure, and sudden death.
The father of two is a former pastor at Joel Osteen’s megachurch Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. The couple rose to prominence in 2017 when they starred in their own reality show The Book of John Gray on the OWN network. In recent years, the couple’s marital strife has played out in public. On various occasions, John has admitted to having emotional affairs.
