Palm Springs International Film Festival canceled due to COVID concerns – San Bernardino Sun

With COVID-19 cases soaring, the Palm Springs International Film Festival has been canceled for today.
“After careful consideration, the Motion Picture Association feels this is the most responsible decision to make to ensure the safety of our patrons, filmmakers and staff,” festival organizers said. said in a statement. “Those who purchased tickets and festival tickets will receive a refund.”
The festival is scheduled to take place from January 7 to 17. Organizers had previously announced the cancellation of the Palm Springs International Film Awards, which was scheduled to begin the film festival on January 6.
According to the organizers, the festival will return as a live event in January 2023.
