Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett (17-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is the hottest UFC contender and faced Rodrigo ‘Kazula’ Vargas (12-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) in a lightweight contest at UFC London to: Volkov vs. Aspinall. Everyone in the crowd cheered for Paddy and he certainly enjoyed the reaction of the home crowd to his performance.
Round 1 – Paddy knew Vargas was good, and he didn’t rush things. Vargas pushed him back and landed a couple of hooks that dropped Paddy to the ground, he jumped on it immediately and Paddy wasted no time pulling the guard up. Vargas pressed in small shots but defended them brilliantly.

Rodrigo tried to move to full height but Paddy got back up. He controlled Vargas’ wrist and landed with a well-placed knee to soften him. Paddy’s corner called for him to land the judo throw and after finding his footing, he landed an amazing harai-goshi to bring the fight to the ground. Vargas attempted to pull the guard but Paddy immediately took his back and secured the rear naked choke for the win.
The crowd went wild after Paddy’s submission win, his teammate Molly McCann charging into the octagon and celebrating his win in the most amazing way. Paddy stepped out to shake hands with President Dana White and Molly climbed the fence to show her delight.
Paddy lived up to his name and it was an important win for his career.
