Packers meet running backs for some reason

The Green Bay Packers are looking to running backs like Isaiah Spiller in the 2022 NFL Draft for some reason.

While they have other more pressing issues, the Green Bay Packers could be targeting a running back like Texas A&M’s Isaiah Spiller in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson reported last week that Green Bay was one of the teams that ran zooms with the former Aggies star. While other teams in dire need of a running back, like the Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons, make sense to do so against Spiller, why are the Packers kicking the hoops here? If they wanted an offensive weapon, it should be at wide receiver.

With Aaron Jones on a second contract and AJ Dillon becoming his own, the Packers should be good at running back, right?

Seek. Spiller has the potential to be a fantastic running back in the league, so maybe for a well-managed team like the Packers, gathering information on him, whether they call him up or not? Keep in mind that head coach Matt LaFleur comes from the Mike Shanahan coaching tree, which means he loves running the ball to open the pass using the outside zone. Spiller is a dynamic playmaker.

However, the Packers won’t be fighting for a Super Bowl if two-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have reliable pass catchers to shoot the pigskin at. Losing Davante Adams is a huge blow, as is Marquez Valdes scantling to some extent. While Green Bay could be a run-first operation once Rodgers hangs up the Spikes, they still keep the franchise quarterback busy.

No matter what the Packers leadership decides in the draft, Rodgers will be displeased. The organization thrives on picking all the players that Rodgers doesn’t want. Two years ago, instead of taking a wide receiver who might be in his prime, they turned to a project quarterback from Utah State in Jordan Love. There’s no telling what will happen in the NFL Draft for the Packers.

Green Bay might not pick Spiller anyway, but they’re one of those teams that’s really watching him closely. Packers meet running backs for some reason
