Pacers vs. Predictions and Odds. Wizards (Indiana ready to recover)

Kristaps Porzingis is expected to do Washington Wizards debut against Indiana Pacers on Sunday, and that leads to Washington being favored in this game.

Both of these teams are outside looking at the playoff picture, and Indiana lost badly to the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.

Washington is only 1-3 down since the All-Star break, but can Porzingis change things for this team?

The duo of Malcolm Brogdon and Tyrese Haliburton are a delight for the Pacers, and I really enjoyed their performance in this badass matchup.

Indiana has been playing better as an underdog (19-16-1 vs. fix), than as a favorite (11-17-1 ATS) this season. On the other hand, Washington is only 7-9-1 ATS when favored at home.

I don’t have much faith in this Wizards team even when Porzingis returns, as they are 22nd in both attack and defense this season. While Indiana has monstrous defense (25th in defensive rating), it is playing 14th in the NBA in the last 10 games while the Wizards are 24th in defensive rating for that span.

I think Haliburton and Brogdon can control this game, and it’s worth noting that Indiana just had one of the worst shooting nights of all time losing to the Pistons, shooting 39.0% from the field and 25.0% from 3.

This is a point of return for Rick Carlisle’s team.
