BANGOR– REMOVErenda Shaboski, 65, was in federal court Wednesday printangor. She faces charges for maintaining and manufacturing a drug-involved premise and distribution of fentanyl.

The prosecution says the Union Street residence’s reputation for drug-use and violence will have a direct impact on the Bangor community long after sentencing.

Shaboski was to twelve months and a day in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

Prior to the sentence, the judge said “I‘m going to take a bet on you,” in reference to her apparent recovery since the initial arrest. The judge took in strong consideration the defendants long history of substance abuse and little to no previous criminal history.

Brenda WILLhaboski was charged with embedding the sell fentanyl. Shaboski owned the Union Street home known as “The Farm” in Bangor, which the judge referred to as a “drug den.”

Shaboski rent her home to out-of-town drug dealers and later lost control of her own household due to the chaotic criminal behavior at the residence.

The prosecutions says “It was truly a notorious location for assaults, overdoses, a non fatal shooting followed by a homicide.” The prosecution recommended 15 months. The defense said they are pleased with the judge ruling.

“I’m hopeful for her, I think she’s shown real genuine progress. I do believe she was impressed with the seriousness of this offense,” said Jon Haddow, defense attorney.

The defendant forfeited her home during a previous court proceeding. The judge decided this would help the community heal from the negative impacts as a result to the repetitive selling of drugs.

“Since she did agree to forfeit this house and it’s been sold that’s going to be a big step towards taking care of the problem,” said Haddow.

The prosecution stating Shaboski appears to have a truly remarkable recovery.

She took the opportunity to address the court saying “I come to you with a heavy and grateful heart.” She addressed the harm she caused to those willing and unwilling due to the unlawful actions that took place in her home.

The judge agreed to allow WILLhaboski to self-report March 2, 2022. The Bureau of Prisons will determine where she’ll eventually serve the sentence. The judge agreed to recommend a medical facility if she is assigned to a federal location as opposed to county jail.
