Which anime studio is actually being worked on One punch man season 3 may still be up in the air, but what we know for damn sure is that the mega-popular anime is making its way there surveillance 2.

Today the over watch -Team announced that their villain, Doomfist, is turning a heroic leaf – at least aesthetically – by getting a new skin based on Iconic One punch man Main character Saitama. Overwatch 2 Season 3 starts tomorrow and the collaboration event will take place from March 7th to April 6th.

“Together we created a cosmetics collection from the popular anime, including Saitama skin for Doomfist,” Blizzard wrote in a blog entry. “We’ll be revealing each item ahead of its release on March 7th, including a legendary skin that can be earned through themed challenges.

The announcement makes a lot of sense if you disagreeider the number of anime references already stuffed into the game. The most important among them is a moira Neon Genesis Evangelion Spray, Sombra’s JoJo’s bizarre adventure-esque ultimateand a Baptiste Dragon Ball Z spray. Hell, before the new Doomfist Saitama skin, Blizzard’s punchy hero already had a spray that faked Saitama’s memed-to-death punch.

While Doomfist’s new skin does a serviceable job of recreating the essence of OPMI can’t help but wonder what else could have been if over watch made OPM Skins for heroes with similar powers and personalities. Since nobody asked, I quickly put together a list over watch Characters that Blizzard should have given their own One punch man skins.

Honorable Mentions go to (deep breath) Tracer as Flashy flashRoadhog as Pig god (I mean come on), Reaper as zombie manRamattra as Metal knightKiriko as TatsumakiMercy as Fubuki, Moira as psychosand Hanzo as Atomic Samurai. I could go on but…

Actually I will. fans of One punch man will watch that OPM X over watch 2 is a very fertile crossover ground that lends itself to a lot of thematically interesting skin ideas. Here are a few that come to mind.

D.Va / Child Emperor

Junk food-eating prodigies.

Should over watch choose another OPM Collaborating, the easiest skin choice they could make would be their Dorito-eating Gremlin Hana Song, another branded product child emperor Skin. Much like D.Va, Child Emperor is, as his name suggests, a prodigy within the OPM mythos thanks to his technical prowess with a range of gimmicks at his disposal. The most important among them is his fat mecha, Brave giant.

Zenyatta / Mumen Rider

Brittle bois.

I’ll be honest, I made this choice mainly because, similar to Zenyattta, mumen driverHis bones might as well be glass when he’s up against a great villain, but his determination to keep fighting the good fight is inspiring. Also, Zeny would look cute floating around on his chrome dome wearing a little green biker helmet. Blizzard could arguably have gone down the route of giving Zenyatta a Saitama skin how much power his kicks have.

Genji / Genos / Speed o’ Sound Sonic / Metal Bat / Sweet Mask

A head-to-head comparison of One Punch Man's Genos and Overwatch's Genji.

It just makes sense.

According to that over watch Rule of doctrine that Genji gets the “best skins in the game”, I bet the pesky cybernetic ninja would get the skins for the coolest characters OPM as well as. All the way up, Genji, how comrade, is a cybernetically modified type who often steals the limelight from other characters. Coincidentally, both characters frequently receive mechanical updates that can prevent or improve their fighting ability. think of all those Geji nerfsand you will know that I am right in this case.

Genji players deserve a skin that appeals to their already inflated vanity where the cute mask Skin suggestion comes into play. Genji also comes along as a cool dude, giving him a pompadour and a baseball bat skin, à la Metal bat, makes sense at the skin design level. Because Genji is one of the fastest characters in surveillance 2 and is a ninja and gives him a Speed-o’-Sound Sonic skin just makes sense. Plus, both disaster men speed often works to their detriment.

Soldier: 76 / Bang / Blast

Zaddies, get up.

Soldier: 76 embodies strength, courage, and the will to keep fighting when the rest of the team is angry or has struck a match. His helix missiles come into play as a one-tap kill for squishy heroes, he’s one of the few heroes who have the ability to run, and his ultimate can single-handedly wipe out an entire team. Those are all traits to give Jack Morrison OPM Veteran Hero Skins bang and the legendary confiscated hero, Bust. Morrison already has Bang’s silver fox haircut, so all Blizzard would have to do is give him a black shirt and call it a day. Additionally, Blizzard can reuse Morrison’s OG skin to have all the elaborate bells and whistles of Blast’s hero costume.

Reinhardt / Puri Puri prisoner

gods among men.

Remember when you were down and an exploding D.Va mech was about to ruin you and your entire team’s chances of winning? Who dropped their shield and attacked the mech at a safe distance from you at the expense of their own well-being? A Reinhardt player, that’s who. Just as Reinhardt is devoted and a mother hen to his little heroes, so is it OPM‘S Puri Puri prisoner. Give Reinhardt his own magical girl transformationcowards.

Brigette / Captain Mizuki

Yusuke Murata and Blizzard’s body type preferences are one and the same.

All I say is over watch should give Brigitte a break so that her skins don’t go by the bootlicker allegations and let her homegirl flex her muscles as she smacks and collects the troops like shield slams OPM‘s Captain Mizuki. They can even turn their mace into Mizuki’s baton.

Garo/Junkrat

A side-by-side image of Overwatch's Junkrat and One Punch Man's Garou.

Like looking in a mirror.
Picture: Blizzard/JCStaff/Kotaku

They may not have emerged from the same womb, but OPM‘S Garo And over watch‘s Junkrat might as well consider themselves blood brothers when it comes to how much damage they can absorb and dish out. Even “defeating” these two in their respective Mythos causes them to be balanced by Garo’s power-ups and Junkrat’s “You eliminated me while stepping on my bombs, idiot” ability. Junkrat already has the hair for a casual Garo cosplay. All he needs is an all black suit like my suggested Soldier 76 Bang skin. Dead easy.

With that I close mine over watch X One punch man What if skins Ted Talk.
