OnlyFans model arrested in Hawaii for murdering her African boyfriend in April, video released by Elevator Fight

An OnlyFans model with a following of millions of fans has been charged with the murder of her African boyfriend. The murder in the spring made international headlines and sparked outrage on social media after law enforcement failed to immediately find them criminally guilty in his death.
Taking to social media, influencer Courtney Clenney has been charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon in the April 3 death of Christian “Toby” Obumseli, a 27-year-old, in Miami. She is accused of stabbing her romantic partner to death.
She was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service, headed by United States Marshal Gadyaces Serralta, on Wednesday, August 10, in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii, and is being held at the East Hawaii Detention Center awaiting her first court appearance at Hilo District Court.
The suspect will be extradited to Miami-Dade County and once there, she will face trial, according to the Miami Herald.
Clenney’s defense attorney, Frank Prieto, confirmed her arrest before revealing the 26-year-old was on the island to attend a substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder rehabilitation facility.
Prieto said: “I am completely shocked, especially since we have cooperated with the investigation and offered to hand her over voluntarily if she is charged.”
“We look forward to clearing her name in court,” he added. Prieto says his client acted in self-defense.
However, shortly after this narrative surfaced days after the assassination, Obumseli’s friends and family vehemently denied her defense and even spoke out about how violent she had been during her two-year relationship with him.
Karen Egbuna, a cousin of Obumseli, said: “We have no reason to believe this was a case of self-defense. Toby grew up in a very strong family with strong morals and values that he didn’t come from,” reported CBS News.
The young woman’s arrest comes four months after Obumseli’s brutal death and after an extensive investigation by prosecutors and homicide detectives from the Miami Police Department. Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales said it took a long time to arrest Clenney because they wanted to make sure their case against them was rigorous.
Morales noted, “You only get one shot. You want to do it right.” Now, confident that they have a strong case, the agency and the prosecutor presented their findings to the public.
At a news conference Thursday, Aug. 11, Miami-Dade County District Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said her findings are consistent with claims made by the deceased’s family, describing the relationship as “extremely stormy and combative.”
The defense attorney does not dispute this statement: “It was clearly a toxic relationship, [they] had its ups and downs and sadly culminated in his death.”
Their discovery also included statements from the building management of the apartment building where Clenney and Obumseli lived. Those officials documented multiple instances in which the couple had been vocal in their arguments and said they were preparing to evict the duo before tragic deaths, reports NBC News. In a newly released video, Clenney and Obumseli are seen getting into an elevator. Inside, Clenney is seen severely punching Obumseli in the face and head several times.
Police believe Clenney threw Obumseli out of her home in the last week of March. The two had reconciled days before the fatal stabbing.
Rundle stated that Obumseli is believed to have been stabbed between 4:33 p.m. and 4:57 p.m., having returned from going out at 1:17 p.m. The detectives were able to create a timeline using key fobs that recorded his comings and goings. He returned to his residence at 4:32 p.m. and was immediately conflicted.
The conflict was so loud and disturbing that neighbors called home security, who in turn called police at 4:46 p.m
Clenney’s phone records showed that she did not call the police, but did call her mother twice during that time. She called the police at 4:57 p.m
Rundle said: “On this emergency call, Christian can be heard in the background. We say repeatedly that he said and he lost feeling and his arm. Defendant Clenney is also heard saying, ‘I’m so sorry.'”
Police received a statement from Clenney’s mother during their investigation, which said she heard her daughter yelling at Obumseli on the phone for “lying” and telling him to leave the premises.
The mother never mentioned Clenney being assaulted while on one of the calls.
Investigators note the mother told them she never spoke to Clenney about Obumseli’s death, but the warrant, listed at 5:25 p.m., received the millennials from “mommy” on her phone, who said “self-defense” and instructions on how to secure one Child contained lawyer before speaking to a detective.
Clenney also recalled the day’s events, saying the two had an argument, and then after he was over he grabbed her by the throat and pinned her against the wall.
When the prosecutor replayed Clenney’s account of the murder, she said: “Then she says he threw her to the ground but allowed her to get up, and at that point Clenney went into a kitchen area and retrieved the knife as a Christian sort walked towards her.” .”
“She threw the knife at him from a distance she estimates to be about 10 feet.”
This is inconsistent with the coroner’s report. It is said that the black man’s wound was caused by a “violent downward thrust”.
Obumseli succumbed to injuries from a three-inch stab to the chest.
“The violent and toxic two-year relationship between Christian Obumseli and Courtney Clenney didn’t have to end in tragedy with Christian’s murder as a victim of domestic violence,” Rundle noted.
The friend’s family has secured legal counsel and said in the press conference that the Obumseli family “always believed that with a thorough and fair investigation this day would become a reality”.
Without directly naming him as a victim of domestic violence, Rundle’s department mentioned on Facebook after the press conference that “men are often unwilling to come forward as a victim of domestic or intimate violence, as it is sometimes called.”
“The chain of domestic violence can be broken, but a first step must be taken. If anyone finds themselves in a dangerous situation of domestic violence, please know that there is a strong safety net of resources and shelters available,” the caption continued. “If you are in an emergency situation, call 911. You can also call my Domestic Violence Hotline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 305.547-0140. We can and want to help.”
Clenney’s warrant has been sealed, according to the Miami-Dade Attorney’s Office.
