One Piece Odyssey announced, RPG with original story by Eiichiro Oda, coming in 2022

One Piece returns to our home consoles with the recently revealed RPG One Piece Odyssey, set for release sometime in 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Steam). Series writer Eiichiro Oda wrote the original storyline for the game, which appears to be set “in the middle of memories”.

Reveals during a live stream (starting at the 1 hour 16 minute mark) that Official One Piece Twitter account confirmed that One Piece Odyssey is on the way. The JRPG is scheduled to be released in Japan and the West sometime in 2022. In addition, the tweet gave us some details about the game.

As you can see in the tweet above, One Piece Odyssey is described as “a brand new console RPG”. We’re not sure what it means to “plunge right into the memories,” but with an original storyline from series creator Eiichiro Oda, One Piece Odyssey is sure to tell a fun story. Developed by ILCA (the studio that brought us Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl), One Piece Odyssey appears to offer turn-based combat and graphics reminiscent of the fantastic Dragon Quest XI (a game ILCA helped develop). .
