Late in Blackhawks Wednesday morning skating, Kyle Davidson emerged from the United Center lounge with Mark Bernard and Brian Campbell, go up a short flight of stairs and sit down in the last row of the 100-seat Section.

That’s where the Blackhawks hockey operations staff used to watch the team during the morning skating session. Davidson sat in that exact row, maybe that exact seat, and watched one morning skate a hundred times during his tenure with the Blackhawks.

Missing is Stan Bowman, Blackhawks general manager since 2009, who left the organization Tuesday for his role in the handling of sexual assault allegations by the organization in 2010. Currently Davidson, who was appointed interim general manager in place of Bowman. It was the first real sign of changes that Blackhawks President Rocky Wirtz and CEO Danny Wirtz announced Tuesday along with a completed independent report on how the Blackhawks handled those allegations.
