PFL Playoffs: Omari Akhmedov decides over Josh Silveira to face Rob Wilkinson for light heavyweight championship
The opening round between the two was fairly quiet and lacking in action, with the most notable event being a takedown by Akhmedov. Silveira tried to use his grappling and wrestle with Akhmedov in the second round, but his offensive performance just didn’t seem to be there. Achmedov was clearly the busier fighter.
Even if a finish was needed, Silveira just couldn’t get into second gear as it was Akhmedov who also made the third press. Silveira got a takedown in the final seconds of the fight but it wasn’t nearly enough.
Akhmedov received nods on all three judges’ scorecards, with two 30-27 and one 29-28.
