Olivier Aubin-Mercier hilariously explains his dispute with Air Canada

Olivier Aubin-Mercier recalls troubles he had with an airline in a hilarious story on PFL 7’s media day.
Olivier Aubin-Mercier is gearing up for his PFL 7 fight coming up in New York City on Friday night, but this isn’t the most entertaining fight he’s had lately. During the media day, Aubin-Mercier was there to discuss his upcoming fight with Alex Martinez in the semifinals but when the subject of his feud with Air Canada came up, it was too funny a story not to tell.
Aubin-Mercier is Canadian and had to fly in for this fight. When he arrived at his destination, his luggage was nowhere to be found. He recalls taking on the airline in a “Liam Neeson-esque” killing spree.
“So it was kind of frustrating,” he said. “They took my luggage for 10 days and on the 10th day I decided it’s okay, now I have to find it and I felt like you know one of those movies that’s about how the Father finds his daughter who was kidnapped because somehow it was the same. You know, so I was like I’d come in anywhere with a lot of confidence and people were almost afraid to answer me and I finally got the damn baggage. But I wouldn’t say smart but a bit of a peddler, maybe I bought it all back straight away, when they lost my luggage I just knew they would pay me back. So I got some great knives for cooking. I haven’t bought boxers or underwear in maybe 10 years. Something like, oh, my underwear was still UFC underwear, and PFL was mad about it. I told you I don’t buy underwear. You have to make new underwear. But that’s why I bought about 50 pairs of underwear. You paid for it. They paid for the knife, they paid for a jacket I was looking for to win the million before they bought it. I bought this, so yeah, to be fair, like they kind of suck – with everything flying, but to pay you back, they’re pretty good.
The journey to reaching the PFL semifinals might not have been there, but Aubin-Mercier’s performances were have been in the PFL so far. He’s been 4-0 since joining the PFL in 2021 and aims to make it to the finals this year. He stated that he believes he is the favorite to win the million dollars at the end of the season and he plans to do just that.
