Olivia Thirlby is the newest actress to join Christopher Nolan Film

The biggest movie of 2023 is about to get even bigger, believe it or not. Christopher nolan‘s upcoming war epic Oppenheimer has seemingly cast almost every notable actor under the sun, and more casting announcements are coming at a rapid pace. Only competes through Margot Robbie‘s Barbie Film in its cast just added the film Olivia Thirlby the gargantuan ensemble in an undisclosed role according to Deadline.

Oppenheimer boasts the largest cast ever assembled, with Cillian Murphy, Emily Stump, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Kenneth Branagh, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Josh Peckand even a confirmed appearance by Gary Oldman, and that only scratches the surface. Murphy leads the crowd as the eponymous real scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, the so-called father of the atomic bomb, responsible for the Manhattan project. The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning film by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy by J. Robert Oppenheimer which narrated the life and downfall of the theoretical physicist as he was forced to confront the ramifications of his scientific breakthroughs.

It’s a massive return to film for Thirlby, who hasn’t had a major presence in the film industry in a while. Thirlby really cut his teeth in the industry with the 2007 Eliot Page, Michael Kera dramedy Juno as the title character’s best friend. She eventually went on to play the lead role The madness and was later occupied opposite Karl Urban in 2012 Dredd, a film she hopes will one day get a sequel. Most recently, her performances were seen on the small screen. She starred in the ill-fated FX series Y: The last man as Hero Brown and in The L Word: Generation Q. Her other appearances include roles in No strings attached, King Goliathand About the shadow which she paired with Alan Ritchson and comedian Jim Gaffigan.

Oppenheimer Details on how all of these Hollywood stars fit into Nolan’s vision are notoriously lacking, and Thirlby is no exception. We’ve recently matched some faces with names outside of Murphy as Oppenheimer, like Blunt, who will play his wife, and Downey Jr., who will star as Lewis Strauss, but there are still a lot of unknowns. In the film, Nolan takes the director’s chair with a script he wrote himself. He will also produce with the help of Emma Thomas and from Atlas Entertainment Karl Roven.

Oppenheimer There’s still a long way to go as the film is expected to hit theaters on July 21, 2023. With production underway in New Mexico, California and New Jersey, who knows what surprises Nolan left behind, or if there are still actors left to surprise us with.
