Olivia Newton-John’s daughter Chloe Lattanzi posts a poignant Christmas message

Chloe Lattanzi, the daughter of the late Australian singer Olivia Newton-John, has posted an emotional message after her first Christmas without her mother.

Newton-John died of cancer on August 8 of that year.

“Merry belated Christmas everyone,” Lattanzi, 36, wrote on Tuesday.

“I’m not a religion but am enjoying this day so much. It’s a day to give to all those you love and cherish.

“This is a day when you focus not on yourself but on the joy you can bring to others.

“It’s my first Christmas without my mom in physical form. But her spirit was everywhere.

“All the love, all the joy, everything… my mom. Merry Christmas to everyone.”

Lattanzi shared a number of family pictures including some of Newton-John’s husband John Easterling and Lattanzi’s husband James Driskill.

The emotional post drew a plethora of supportive comments from fans and followers.

“Your mommy will always be by your side,” one person wrote.

“You are the #1 person I admire because with everything you’ve been through this year you keep making progress,” wrote another.

“The first of everything without a loved one is difficult, but it just reminds us of how much love we had and still have for her,” said one follower.

“Your beautiful mama will always be with you dear Chloe.”

“I’m glad you’re enjoying your holidays as your mum wishes,” added a third.

“We know how hard this is for you,” wrote one follower.

“We have your mother’s amazing angelic voice forever, she will be with us in that way.

“A happy and healthy 2023!”

Newton-John is to be honored with a state funeral in Victoria.

Her passing sparked a wave of grief around the world, while her daughter chronicled her journey of loss on social media, sharing her favorite memories and moments with her famous mother.

Chloe Lattanzi is Newton-John’s daughter with Matt Lattanzi, who the Grease and Xanadu star was married to from 1984 to 1995.

Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. In addition to beginning natural therapies, she underwent a partial mastectomy, chemotherapy, and breast reconstruction.

In 2013, a cancerous lump was found on her shoulder after a traffic accident, which she only spoke about publicly when she sat down with Sunday Night in 2018.

Then, in 2018, Newton-John revealed that her stage four breast cancer had spread to her back, with a tumor at the base of her spine.

She remained optimistic throughout her fight, even telling The Guardian: “It was a gift. I don’t wish it on anyone else. But for me it was important in my life.”
