Oklahoma transfer spurs interest with LA visit

Oklahoma winger Caleb Williams sparked rumors of a possible move to USC or UCLA with a visit to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles for a Rams game.

When Caleb Williams announced his decision to join the transfer portal, he was clear that doing so was to explore his options.

That discovery seems to have brought him to Los Angeles.

On Sunday, Williams posted a video to his Instagram story from a side room at SoFi Stadium during the Rams against the 49ers.

Caleb Williams is examining what Los Angeles has to offer

Williams’ confirmation of his presence in Los Angeles comes after Oklahoma wide receiver Mario Williams, who also joined the transfer portal, also placed himself in LA on Instagram.

Receiver told Hayes Fawcett when he walked in the gate that he wanted Williams to be his quarterback.

Put two and two together and it certainly looks like the two Williams are visiting USC as they weigh their transfer options.

It makes sense since Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma to take the position of head coach of the Trojans. He has recruited both quarterback and Williams to play in his offense before. Both would be welcome additions to USC’s offense under Riley.

A visit to USC, and possibly UCLA, doesn’t guarantee Caleb or Mario will decide to follow Riley but it’s a first step if it’s their last. There will be other opportunities for highly-desired transition goals to visit schools and weigh their best options.

With the spring semester about to begin, transfer decisions will have to be made sooner.
