A moment of great sportsmanship was demonstrated among young Little League players after an accidental helmet hit on a field.

An Oklahoma Little Leaguer took a pitch against the helmet of a Texas East Little Leaguer.

While getting hit by a pitch is never an easy situation, the batter showed great sportsmanship by comforting the distraught pitcher.

The young players remind that despite rivalries, there is still good in the world.

The game was an important game for both teams. It was the Southwest Region Championships. Texas East ended up winning the game 9-4, qualifying for the Little League World Series.

Texas East qualified for the Little League World Series after accidentally hitting a hitter

The Little League World Series features regional qualifier championships featuring 20 teams, 10 of which are national and 10 international. The regional championships are a big deal that’s likely to be nerve-wracking for the youngsters, so the Oklahoma hitter’s athleticism was a heartfelt moment for many.

The Texas East pitcher still managed to pull off a win and make his team proud, despite the negative emotions he was facing at the moment.

The mother of a Texas East player, Jennifer Kahn, expressed her excitement about the game and the team’s victory.

Kahn tells Shavonne Herndon of Houston Public Media, “It was surreal. This is what the kids have dreamed of ever since they played t-ball, ever since they played on the small fields. You saw the bigger kids in 2014 and 2015. It’s like a little boy’s dream. The 2016 team went to Regionals but lost in Regionals. It’s been a while since we went to the World Series because we have a tough stretch.
