Oklahoma football fans miss Lincoln Riley during Kent State’s upset bid

Oklahoma football fans spent most of the year cursing Lincoln Riley’s name, but now some are missing him thanks to an angry bid from Kent State.

Oklahoma fans must have been feeling pretty good about the direction of their program after a crucial win over UTEP.

Week 2 should be more of the same with Kent State on the board. The Golden Flashes had other ideas.

In a shocking first half, Kent State’s Dillon choked on Gabriel and the Sooners. It needed a touchdown late in the second quarter before Oklahoma found the end zone and went into the break with a feeble 7-3 lead.

How did Oklahoma fans deal with this turn of events? Some of them took a stand against new head coach Brent Venables and talked about missing Lincoln Riley.

Oklahoma was a 33-point favorite at home over Kent State. A 33-point favorite shouldn’t lead by just four points at halftime. They shouldn’t have to scratch out a single touchdown in the first half.

No wonder Sooner fans are looking around, wondering what’s going on. After all, they were ok against UTEP. The opponent didn’t get much better.

The Sooners averaged 0.5 yards per carry in the first half. whoops

The defense had the state of Kent eat up the clock and restrict possession for Gabriel and his company. Kent State.

It was an awful feat. The good news is that it can’t possibly get any worse. It can?

Kent State will be looking to complete an incredible upset.

If so, expect Sooners fans to catch even more fire in a humiliating Week 2 outing.
