Oilers knock out Kraken in third place, win 5-3

In Seattle, the Oilers needed a strong third stage to separate themselves from the Kraken on Saturday night.
The match entered the final bracket with the Oilers and Seattle drawing 3-3.
Warren Foegele Overcame the game with his second goal of the game to give the Oilers a 4-3 lead, and Connor McDavid eventually returned to the scoreboard with a late goal in the empty net.
Stuart Skinner made 14 saves in the win over Edmonton.
“I think we had some thought about how we wanted to play,” said Oilers partner Jim Playfair. “They have found a way to get together, and I think our tempo is very good. I think our consistent structure was really good and we played a solid match
Oilers improved to 18-11-0.
Leon Draisaitl had three assists in the win.
“I think putting Leon and Connor on the pitch as much as we did with the different wingers allows them to keep the pace high in the game,” Playfair said. “I thought our defense played really well. I think our structure and test structure set up our defender to be able to stay well and tight and keep things organized in the neutral zone… for most of the game, I think they I did a great job trying to win the blue lines and push the pucks forward. ”
Ryan Donato put Seattle 1-0 up in the first half.
“It was a pretty tight hockey game,” said Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol. “Defensively, we don’t give up. In the first period, I think I was probably ahead of us in terms of scoring chances, pretty even. We couldn’t get the hit in the second and third half.”
Seattle drops to 10-17-3.
Jared McCann extended Seattle’s lead to 2-0.
The Oilers responded with the word target Evan Bouchard and Foegele to equalize 2-2 towards the middle goal.
During the second period, Oilers’ Colton Sceviourand Seattle’s Carson Soucy Goals were traded to bring the game to the third, draw, 3-3.
“We didn’t get past the neutral zone and we didn’t get any kind of forecast so there was no incentive for us,” Hakstol said. “For most of the second and third seasons, there were times when we had a little bit but couldn’t consistently produce that.”
Chris Driedger made 36 saves in the loss to Kraken.
