Ohio State football lands Arizona State transfers RB to play LB

Ohio State football is carrying one of the best transfers in the gate back to his hometown to become Buckeye, but he is making a big position transition to do so.
Going back to the 2020 recruiting cycle, the Ohio State team featured Akron native DeaMonte Trayanum in hopes of him joining the Buckeyes. Alas, they missed out on the 4-star perspective when he instead gave his talents to the Arizona State Sun Devils.
But after two years at Tempe in a running back position, Trayanum stepped into the transfer portal and reopened his options on where to end his college football career.
In the end, he decided to return home when he landed with Ohio State – but he is planning to move to the opposite side of the ball.

Based on what we’ve seen from Trayanum in the State of Arizona, the transition from running back to linebacker can be a bit of a surprise. After all, he’s been the Sun Devil’s key weapon, making 402 yards and six touchdowns in the 2021 season.
