Ohio State DB injured his leg at Rose Bowl

Ohio State Safety Lathan Ransom had to be taken off the field and taken to the hospital after injuring his leg during the Rose Bowl.

Ohio State’s appearance at the Rose Bowl was cut short in the first half due to a serious injury to Lathan Ransom’s safety.

The sophomore injured his leg in the second leg match against Brother Covey of Utah. Immediately, the coaches realized the extent of the injury, quickly cast a cast around his left leg.

The entire Buckeye team surrounded Ransom to support him when a cart carried him off the field.

Utah fans also gave him a standing ovation as he left the field.

Lathan Ransom Injury Update: Ohio State Regulator taken to hospital

The ESPN broadcast updated Ransom’s status to say he was taken to nearby Huntington hospital for an X-ray of his leg. His family was in the stands and they were able to accompany him.

Ransom has played in all 12 games this season for Ohio State, totaling 38 tackles, 2.5 missed tackles, 5 breaks and one forced fumble.

This is definitely the last way anyone wants to see his season end.

Ransom joins the Buckeyes as a 2020 tier four-star prospect in Tucson, Arizona.
