Officials lease signs by fanatics to the Aberdeen distribution center – CBS Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Fanatics, one of the leading e-commerce retailers of licensed sportswear and collectibles, has contracted to lease a 500,000-square-foot distribution center in Aberdeen, Maryland Department of Commerce said.

The facility at 727 Old Philadelphia Road is expected to employ 135 full-time workers.

“We are thrilled to welcome Fanatics to Harford County with this important new distribution center,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “The region has announced a number of successful logistics and distribution projects over the past year, and we believe Fanatics will continue to contribute to this growing sector and help Maryland open for business.”

Officials have touted the location of the distribution center, saying it offers easy access to Baltimore/Washington’s Thurgood Marshall International Airport and the Port of Baltimore.

“Fans are excited to open our newest state-of-the-art performance center in Harford County, which will provide a variety of avenues to quickly reach a significant audience of fans with a wide variety of Real-time high-quality licensed sports merchandise,” said Lonnie Phillips, Fanatics customer manager. “We are excited to add jobs to the county and can’t wait to fully immerse ourselves in the local community.”

The company is eligible for an annual workforce training grant of up to $5,000 through Harford County.

“We are delighted to welcome Fanatics to Harford County and look forward to the new jobs they will bring to our community,” said County Administrator Barry Glassman. “They join the growing list of national brands that have chosen Harford as the ideal place to do business.”

Fanatics has licensing agreements with the NFL, NCAA, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, NASCAR, and dozens of international soccer teams.

Earlier this year, after obtaining the exclusive license to manufacture MLB trading cards, Fanatics get Toppsiconic company associated with this hobby, with a reported $500 million.
