BALTIMORE (WJZ) — As the temperature rises, so does traffic on Ocean City’s streets with tourists heading to the beach. However, travelers should be wary of a special events zone set up for a motor event in the city.
Ocean City will be designated a Special Event Zone Thursday through Sunday during the 31st Annual Cruisin’ Ocean City Auto Show

The zone sets reduced speed limits in the zone and increases fines for violations. The city said the law, signed in 2020, allows for higher penalties for certain motor vehicle violations.
Violators will face increased fines or, in some cases, arrest.

The city said citizens should expect a large police presence as officers from several other agencies will be assisting the Ocean City Police Department.
They urge viewers to keep sidewalks clear for pedestrian traffic and “should not encourage motorists to spin their wheels or burn out.”
