Obi-Wan Kenobi as an action-adventure film from 1984

Auralnauts often does a better job of making Star Wars fun than Disney. This inspired theme song and intro for a 1984 version of Obi-Wan has the beat, synthesizer and vocals tailored precisely to the shows of that era. The proximity to the A-Team, Simon and Simon or Magnum PI is noticeable.

Apparently Aurualnauts had to abandon their adherence to the “timeline” in Star Wars production in order to set Obi in the ’80s. A cool 60s intro would have been great too, but it doesn’t fit the story of the series at all.

In our Ahsoka Retro TV intro, we asked what shows you’d like to see us on next, and the clear winner was Obi-Wan. Typically with these videos we try to figure out what year they would have been released if they were released in chronological order. Obi Wan would have come out around 1967, but we just weren’t interested in making ’60s music. It would have been funny, sure, but it wouldn’t have rocked. And we kind of feel like Obi Wan feels the need to rock. So that’s what we did. We apologize in advance for the motivation you will feel. CREDITS: Obi-Wan is owned by Disney. Be the One (Obi-Wan), written and produced by Auralnauts. With guitar and backing vocals from Scott Beetley
