The 2021-22 racing season starts at Oaklawn Park On December 3 with the first run of the $150,000 Advent Stakes. The six-lap main track event attracts a field of 10 minors aiming for a black category victory.
The two runners most likely to attract attention at the windows are HRH Prince Sultan Bin Mishal Al Saud’s Cairama and David Campbell, Douglas Arnold, Marc Winston and David Clement’s Higher standards .

Trained by Tom Amoss, Higher Standard scored a sparkling debut win on 14 November at Churchill Downs, roams 5 3/4 length while earning 94 Equibase Speed Figures in the mud. Since that effort, the son of Into Mischief fired a five-shot bullet at: 59/5 November 24 at Churchill. Breaking through from the outside, Higher Standard secured Florent Geroux’s services for Advent.
Other interesting candidates to note are The charter oak tree and Kavod , both got their first head start on the new barn since being asked to pay $50,000 in their earlier efforts, as well as finally being a Churchill maiden special weight winner B Sudd for coach Dallas Stewart.
