NRL 2023: Mitchell Moses re-signs with Parramatta Eels

One of the most dramatic contract stories is finally over as Parramatta Eels star Mitchell Moses makes a phone call about his future just hours before their Grand Final rematch.
Parramatta playmaker Mitchell Moses has ended the saga over his future after agreeing to a lucrative extension that will likely see him retire from his blue and gold career.
News Corp understands Moses informed Parramatta late Thursday that he would be staying after agreeing terms just hours before the big final rematch against Penrith at Commbank Stadium.
His decision to stay with the Eels at least until the end of 2028 is a huge boost for a Parramatta side that lost their first three games earlier in the season. The Eels have always been favorites to keep their key playmaker but his decision to stay will still come as a relief as the Tigers had pelted Moses with the kitchen sink to convince him to do so, under Tim Sheens, Benji Marshall and Robbie Farah to work.
Moses made it clear from the start that he was emotionally connected to the eels and that connection was eventually too difficult to sever.
News Corp understands Moses left almost $1 million on the table by staying at the Eels, a sign of his deep affection and commitment to the club.
His decision to stay means Parramatta is now on long-term deals – five-eighths Dylan Brown signed a long-term deal with Parramatta during the offseason.
