Cyberpunk 2077‘S The next generation version is finally out this week after months of delay. Pretty good if you’re using PlayStation 5, especially because of haptics, but the re-release also resolves numerous bugs with a large 50 GB patch. However, not everyone liked the new update, as PlayStation 4 owners reported that the physical disc version of the game was completely corrupted.
CD developer Projekt Red dropped patch 1.5 on Tuesday, introducing additions (like new cosmetics for V) and improvements (such as tweaking NPC AI to make them a bit smarter). The game still lacks some pretty essential content, including the New Game Plus mode, but Cyberpunk 2077The launch of the next generation pushes the game closer to the state it should have been when it was released. Unfortunately, while fixing some things, CDPR seems to have damaged others, including the PS4 disc version.
According to user reviews all over the internet, from Twitter arrive Official developer forum pagesphysical version of Cyberpunk 2077 on every iteration of the PS4 keeps popping up the launch error. PS4 owners who installed patch 1.5 say they have met broken data message when trying to start the game, with a nearly 10 year old system asking them to delete the app, re-insert the disc and reinstall the game. However, this series of steps doesn’t seem to fix the boot problem.
“After installation [the update] on my PS4 Pro I get a message that the game file is corrupted,” wrote user Gabidu on CDPR’s forums. “I deleted the file and reinstalled, deleted my saves, and recreated the PS4 database via safe mode, but the problem persists.”
“I want to cry,” wrote a Twitter user. “This is the second time getting this [corrupted data message while] try to play Cyberpunk 2077 since the patch. PS4 disc users seem to have been enthralled. “
CDPR Global Community Manager Marcin Momot posted on developer forum page that the studio is aware of the issue and is investigating solutions. It’s not clear what’s causing these launch errors for the PS4 disc version of Cyberpunk 2077, but it’s also not the only platform having problems. Momot added that CDPR is looking into issues with PC crashes, which he says could be caused by an audio software conflict. Therefore, Momot recommends PC users to disable the sound driver before launching the game. Such a temporary fix does not currently exist for PS4 users.
That’s a useless man. The game went bankrupt for months after its launch. It was broken to the point Sony pulled Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation store for six months, and even when it came back, the game still has problems. It makes you wonder when, if ever, Cyberpunk 2077 steady state will be reached.
